NUMBFULL AND THE FULLS

© Kobe, 1989-2012

Numbfull and The Fulls NOW have their very own website
www.numbfullandfulls.com

NUMBFULL and the FULLS©
were created in 1989 when my children were young and beginning to discover their wide range of emotions and needs.   It also was a time when I was learning about the wide range of emotional responses my children could evoke in me. THE FULLS”  provided a tool for me and my children to talk about our feelings and ways to express them in helpful and creative ways.  When they were first created I used them to talk to hundreds of children in schools and adults in workshops about parenting and emotional intelligence.

After personally making over 500 sets of the Fulls since 1989 I have decided to offer the patterns so you can make your own set of Numbfull and The Fulls.  You receive the Patterns and complete instructions, along with the face designs that can be printed out on ink jet fabric. You also purchase the Numbfull and the Fulls Users Manual with lots of ways to use the Fulls and other emotional communication activities. Also purchase the master sheets of Catch 'Em Feeling Stars, designs of feeling faces placed in star shapes that you can print out onto sticker paper, cut out and catch kids feeling.

All come in PDF format and will be sent to you electronically through your email, unless you want them sent through snail mail.

Numbfull, Ragefull, Tearfull, Fearfull, Joyfull, Peacefull,
Powerfull, Stressfull and Shamefull

Explore feelings with this group of delightful, stuffed dolls.  Numbfull and The Fulls can help you in a fun and non-threatening way to facilitate group and individual emotional communication with children and adults.  They can be used to communicate what happens when we feel, express, stuff and/or get stuck in a feeling.  In this form one can get their hands on a feeling.  The collective message of these characters is that a person’s feelings are their own, that it is important to express emotions in ways that are safe and that sending feelings into hiding effect one’s well-being.  A Users’ Manual is included with the basic set. It provides field-tested methods and  techniques that have been used with children using THE FULLS.

Since their conception I have made over 500 sets of these feeling dolls have been sold sets to teachers, social workers, counselors, therapists, and parents.   They are being used in schools; healing, grief, and medical centers; orphanages in Russia and China, addiction recovery programs, churches and mental health centers.  In the past year I decided to retire "The Fulls" but thanks to a few persistent people from mental health centers in Minnesota I've decided to send them back out into the world to do their work.....healing and helping people of all ages express their feelings.

" I have LOVED Numbfull and the Fulls. They have been a very valuable tools in my presentations of social and emotional skills development lessons. I use the set to create a concrete version of very abstract ideas. This is especially helpful in my classes with my youngest students. My favorite example is filling Numbfull with the feelings that are often labeled as "bad" and talking about how they get bigger and bigger until we talk about with someone we trust. Then I take them out and show how much more comfortable Numbfull will feel. We also discuss how the "uncomfortable' feelings don't disappear, but we just share them with others. It sends a powerful message. I also utilize the set in my small groups. They work great for check-ins of where the kids are "at" when they come to group, and how they feel a s they leave.  The individual Fulls are also geat as "mascots" when I am talking about specific topics. For example, I've used "Powerfull" when I talk about solving bullying problems by refusing or reporting to an adult. The Numbfull and the Fulls set is a great teaching tool!

"I have a young child who I see.  I suspected there was a lot of suppressed anger and hurt due to circumstances.  However, she has been unable to verbalize it to me in any real way.  The first time I showed her Numbfull she took him and stuffed Ragefull and Tearfull inside of him and told me that Numbfull needed to have feelings and  he had these feelings because his parents left him and he was all alone.   Huge break through with her! I can't believe that this simple tool helped do what other items could not.  I'm so grateful that you decided to  continue with this and I was lucky enough to have heard about them." Thanks for all you do and creating such a marvelous tool!

Amazing and astounding are apt descriptors of the impact of using Numbfull and the Fulls in a therapeutic setting.  Since their creation by Barb Kobe, they have been an integral part of my therapy practice with children, adolescents and adults, and in particular, the one named Powerfull has conveyed an important message of empowerment across the developmental spectrum.  Barb's ability to take feeling concepts and put them in a visual and kinesthetic form has encouraged greater integration for clients and is a valuable tool of transformation.  I applaud her for bringing her creativity into the therapy world.

Numbful and The Fulls are a wonderful resource for me as a therapist.  I work with teens and adults, and of all of the "toys" in my office, these are by FAR the ones my clients check out and use!  They help clients talk about and own feelings in a way that feels safe to them.  Everyone identifies with these feeling dolls.  HIGHLY recommend!!

“I can’t imagine a counselor not having these…..Numbfull and The Fulls are my most valuable tools.”
Christy - Middle School Counselor

“In therapy sessions, it is difficult to distinguish who is having the most fun or who has gained the most from  the experience – parents, children or therapist, perhaps that is because everyone benefits from using them.”
Elaine Korsch, MSW, CDCC

"
Students say: “Where is Numbfull and when are you bringing him back?”
Carol Bleifield, School Counselor
